  I also would like a beta screen, Jim. In your reply, Karen, the formula you worked out distorts with trending stocks. If you want to know the amount of wiggle a stock has (per time period) then you should work off of a moving average, not the price 60 days ago, IMHO.
 
 What I am looking for is simply a measure of average variance from the moving average or some other price baseline. Standard deviation?
 
 Is this a bandwidth issue?

  I agree standoc, deviation from an average price would be the key.  Is it possible to add this scan?  
 
 I am looking for a way to scan stocks that are at extreems from their 12 day standard deviation.

  Show stocks where Beta is between 0.50 and 1.0
 and add column Beta {Beta}
